Covering 16 square miles, the City of Tarpon Springs is located on the west central coast of Florida. The city has a population of approximately 24,000 residents and its own police department. According to its website, the mission of the Tarpon Springs Police Department is “to reduce crime and enhance quality of life through a cooperative partnership with the community.”

With Robert Kochen serving as the current Chief of Police, the Tarpon Springs Police Department has forty-eight (48) sworn officers. Approximately twenty-nine (29) of those officers are assigned to the patrol division. The remaining sworn officers are assigned to the following special units including:
