DUI Wolf Pack Operation Set for 4th of July Weekend 2017

Beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 30, 2017, and continuing until 5 a.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2017 the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting enhanced DUI enforcement through the use of a “DUI Wolf Pack.”  “Wolf Pack” is the name the Pinellas County Sheriff’s office has given these DUI operations.

July 2017’s Wolf Pack will be run in cooperation with the St. Petersburg Police Department , Gulfport Police Department, Largo Police Department, and Tarpon Springs Police Department.  Notably absent is the Clearwater Police Department.  See the announcement here: Pinellas Deputies and Local Police Agencies to Conduct County-Wide DUI Wolf Pack this Weekend

The DUI Wolf Pack operations are typically put into place during holiday weekends such as Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, and New Year’s Eve.

The 4th of July Weekend Wolf Pack operation will target drivers who are under the influence of alcohol.  The legal limit is .08 in Florida.

This 4th of July Weekend’s DUI Wolf Pack Operation in Pinellas County had the following results:

Criminal Charges:

9 DUI’s

7 Driving While License Suspended and/or Revoked with Knowledge

3 Possession of a Controlled Substance – Felony

2 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

2 No Valid Driver’s License

1 Fleeing to Elude – Felony

1 Violation of Probation – Felony

Total Charges – 25

Citations:

14 Driving While License Suspended and/or Revoked with Knowledge

5 No Insurance

11 Speeding

2 Seat Belt Violation

2 Violation of DL Restrictions

18 Other Non-moving Violations

16 Other Moving Violations

Total Citations – 68
